Peace of Mind with Therapy Animal Insurance for Professionals

You’re a professional, your insurance should be too.

Liability Insurance for Professionals

When you incorporate therapy animals into your professional practice, whether it’s in a school, clinic, or office, your insurance coverage should reflect the work you do. Through AAAIP, members have exclusive access to liability insurance specifically designed for professionals working with therapy animals in their paid roles.

This isn’t the same insurance available to volunteers through therapy animal organizations. It’s built for professionals like you, who are doing this work every day as part of your job.

This insurance program protects you and your therapy animal from specific risks while you’re at work. AAAIP offers coverage at a specially negotiated rate to professionals from Business Insurers of the Carolinas.

The general liability policy covers you against bodily injury or property damage to a third party, including clients and patients, caused by negligent acts by you or your therapy animal while engaging in animal-assisted interventions.

The policy also includes coverage for any injuries your therapy animals sustain while participating in therapy work with you as their handler. There’s an optional professional liability endorsement sublimit of $25,000 to cover errors or omissions/professional liability that comes from your work.

AAAIP Members with a Animal-Assisted Intervention Specialist Certification (C-AAIS), who have completed a AAAIP Evaluation for Professionals, are eligible to purchase insurance at the negotiated AAAIP insurance rate.
