By the end of this module, you will be able to: • Define zoonosis and reverse zoonosis and recognize the primary zoonotic concerns associated with various species of therapy animals • Determine the best practices for screening the health status of both clients and therapy animals to determine eligibility for AAI • Understand the rates of zoonotic diseases and the risks associated with AAI • Incorporate best practices to mitigate zoonotic risks when working with therapy animal. • Identify ways in which to educate clients about zoonosis and infection prevention so that they are prepared to play an active role in mitigation procedures
